CTE – Advanced Graphics

In a nutshell, this is what we do in this class: Advanced Graphic Arts is a continuation of Graphic Arts. In this class, students are assigned a number of graphic design and printing projects to give them the skills and experience in the Graphic Arts field. Students take on real world printing and designing assignments for the school, churches, organizations, and some local businesses. Many students go on to college to further their studies in this field.

Students will also have the opportunity to compete at the state SkillsUSA competition, an organization supported and promoted by Mike Rowe, host of Discovery Channel’s Dirty Jobs. In 2014, Natalie Roe placed second in the state in the Graphic Communications contest held in Springfield, IL. In 2007, senior Brandon Noll also placed first in Graphic Communications at the state level and eventually went on to win first place in the national competition a few years later when he competed through ICC.
