Color Guard
Description
The Redbird Color Guard is a performing ensemble that adds an incredible visual element to the Marching Band. Students perform with flags, rifles, and sabers as well as some dance. Students receive a PE waiver for the first semester. Members are expected to pay band dues as well as some uniform costs (shoes, make-up…). Students will be accepted into the color guard by auditions that occur in the spring. No previous musical or performing experience is required.
The Redbird Color Guard practices and competes as a part of the the Marching Band. Members perform at all home football games as well as competitions across the state.The marching band has two camps at the schools during the summer in early-June and at the end of July/beginning of August. The competitive season starts in mid-September and continues until the end of October.
